Housekeeper

Job Summary:

We are looking for a trustworthy, organized, and hardworking Housekeeper to maintain a clean, orderly, and comfortable home. You will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning, laundry, and upkeep of the household, ensuring everything is neat and ready for the family. Because this role involves working in a private home, honesty, discretion, and a respectful attitude are essential.

Job Duties:

Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish all rooms, floors, and furniture
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas daily
Wash, dry, iron, fold, and put away clothes, linens, and towels
Make beds and change bedding regularly
Wash dishes, and keep the kitchen, fridge, and pantry clean and tidy
Assist with meal preparation and kitchen cleanup, where required
Take out trash and keep bins clean
Clean windows, mirrors, curtains, and outdoor areas such as balconies and entrances, as assigned
Organize wardrobes, cupboards, and storage spaces
Monitor household supplies and inform the employer when items need restocking
Run light errands such as grocery shopping, where required
Assist with children or elderly family members, where agreed
Handle household items, appliances, and valuables with care, and report any damage or breakage promptly
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the family and their private affairs
Remain available for flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or live-in arrangements, as agreed
Perform other reasonable household duties assigned by the employer

Job Requirements

Education and Qualification:

Basic education or equivalent
Physically fit and able to stand, bend, lift, and carry for extended periods
Honest, discreet, and dependable
Neat, polite, and well-groomed
Good time management and attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions and adapt to the family’s routines
Willingness to undergo a background and reference check
First aid or basic childcare training is an advantage

Work Experience:

2-3 years of experience as a housekeeper, domestic worker, or in a similar role
Experience managing all aspects of household cleaning and upkeep
Skilled in laundry, washing, ironing, and proper care of different fabrics
Knowledge of safe use of cleaning products, appliances, and equipment
Basic cooking or kitchen help experience is an advantage
Experience caring for children or elderly family members is an advantage
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
